An earthquake of magnitude 3.3 hit Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi around noon on Tuesday, according to the National Centre for Seismology. The depth of the earthquake was 5 km below the ground.
The epicentre of the earthquake was located in the hilly region between Kullu and Mandi. The quake registered a magnitude of 3.3 on the Richter scale. Despite the tremor, no reports of damage have surfaced.
The epicentre was pinpointed at latitude 31.74 and longitude 76.86 and five km deep. While the earthquake’s intensity was low, its recurrence has raised concerns among residents about potential future shocks.
